With a career spanning organizational leadership, facilitation, and consulting, Alanna partners with mission-driven organizations to translate complex opportunities into actionable strategies. A social worker by trade, she understands the human side of organizational change and has helped her clients navigate everything from strategic planning to governance overhauls. Alanna believes there is value in disagreement. She brings exemplary facilitatory skills that support divergent perspectives and civil discourse to arrive at consensus.

A fourth-generation Washingtonian and nature enthusiast, Alanna named her company after the official tree of Washington, DC, the Scarlet Oak. When she's not knee deep in association strategy, you'll likely find her enjoying the delightful chaos of raising two "wild and wonderful" kids with her husband Benjamin. Alanna holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and a Masters Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and she's ready to bring her unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to your mission.

Driven by a commitment to social impact, Julia Riordan empowers mission-driven organizations to achieve sustainable growth through strategic, data-informed decision-making. Her foundation, built upon a Master's degree from the University of Chicago, provides a robust framework for leveraging data analytics and implementation science to prepare organizations to thrive amidst uncertain operating environments. 

Julia recognizes that a strong business model is not merely a financial necessity, but a critical tool for amplifying mission impact. By refining business and dues models through rigorous analysis, she helps organizations optimize revenue streams to ensure their long-term viability. While some may perceive business growth as at odds with non-profit values, Julia believes it is a critical foundation for lasting social change. 

Beyond the numbers, Julia is deeply invested in the communities she serves. As a passionate Chicagoan and self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, she finds inspiration in the city's vibrant culture and is determined to explore every café in the city. Julia is also involved in Chicago's Association Forum as a committee volunteer.
 

Daniela is a thoughtful and detail-oriented project manager who brings structure, clarity, and efficiency to complex initiatives. With over five years of experience and a background in applied psychology, she helps mission-driven teams move projects forward with intention, alignment, and strategic focus.

Guided by both curiosity and a commitment to meaningful impact, Daniela has managed projects for associations, nonprofits, and values-driven entrepreneurs across the U.S. and Latin America. She is known for her empathetic communication style, her ability to hold both vision and detail, and her passion for designing workflows and systems that support both people and purpose.

Originally from Venezuela and now based in California, Daniela brings a global perspective and deep cultural sensitivity to her work. Outside of project management, she enjoys writing, making art, traveling, and exploring the intersection of creativity, mindfulness, and how we relate to time and work - a theme she continues to explore through her advocacy for conscious productivity.

Alison leverages her 12+ years of research experience with associations as a member, employee, volunteer leader, and strategic consultant to design and deliver effective, goal-oriented research. Simply put, data is her passion. Prior to joining Scarlet Oak, Alison spent the last ten years as a leader of the research and insights division of a prominent consulting firm focused exclusively on associations,. There she was instrumental in individual and team development while setting research policies, standards, and methodologies for the organization.

With a Master of Social Work from The University of Alabama, Alison believes facilitating focus groups and conducting interview require the same skills as running a therapy session. She brings a unique ability visualize the big picture and lead with empathy, giving her a deeper understanding of the perceptions of research participants, clients, and team members.

A native of McLean, Virginia, Christine Wagner has dedicated her career to empowering nonprofit and public sector organizations through strategic data utilization. With a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, she possesses a deep understanding of nonprofit strategy and the critical role of data-driven decision-making.

Her expertise encompasses public policy analysis, nonprofit strategic planning, advanced data analysis, and comprehensive market research, enabling her to develop bespoke solutions that yield quantifiable outcomes. Christine excels at translating complex data into actionable insights, facilitating informed strategic planning and operational enhancements for her clients.

When she's not at work you'll find her walking her dog Bailey, visiting the ever expanding brewery scene across the DMV, or exploring new cultures through her travels around the world.
